The best way to add a plant to the GardenToDo.com database

First of all, there is only one requirement: a Name/Title. There is no need to put anything else. If you create a plant with only a name, then the rest of the community knows you want some help!

That being said, it is pretty easy to google up some information how to take care of a plant and cut-and-paste it into the edit form. Here are some general tips:

  • Give tasks an early date/month so the emails go out with enough time to get the task done, then note in the description how late it can be done.
  • It's easy to gather information via google - just search for the plant name, plus "prune, fertilize, care", etc. The information is mostly there, it just isn't organized well.
  • Don't be afraid to go ahead and save the plant, you can come back and edit later.

That is pretty much it! As they say, 'just do it'. As always, we greatly appreciate any suggestions!
